Rehabilitation of the Elderly Care Home in Ashrafiyat Sahnaya Funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre
In a humanitarian step that restores hope to those who have spent their lives in service to others, the Al-Ameen Humanitarian Support Organization announced the completion of a project to rehabilitate the elderly care home in the Ashrafiyat Sahnaya area, funded generously by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.
The project came in response to an urgent need the home had long suffered from, following years of neglect and deterioration that affected its infrastructure and basic facilities. During the crisis that swept through the country, the home witnessed a significant decline in the level of services provided to its elderly residents, negatively affecting their daily quality of life and their sense of safety and comfort.
The rehabilitation project included a wide range of works, starting with structural repairs and improvements to the electricity and water networks, moving on to renovating and furnishing the residential rooms to suit the needs of elderly residents, and culminating in preparing shared spaces to be warmer and more comfortable. The implementation team took great care to consider health and general safety aspects in every detail of the work, recognizing the sensitivity of the target group and its need for a safe and stable environment.
The impact of this project is not limited to the physical and structural aspects alone, but extends to a deep human and psychological dimension. Elderly individuals burdened by the weight of years and worn down by life’s hardships now find in this renewed home a safe haven that restores to them a measure of the dignity and peace of mind they deserve after a long lifetime of giving and sacrifice.
This project comes as part of a series of humanitarian initiatives implemented by the Al-Ameen Organization in partnership with supporting bodies, aiming to reach the most vulnerable and needy groups within Syrian society. The organization affirms that supporting the elderly represents a humanitarian priority no less important than other relief files, carrying with it a message of gratitude toward an entire generation that contributed to building society.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre remains one of the most prominent supporters of humanitarian projects in Syria, continuing to provide support to various vital sectors serving the most vulnerable groups, foremost among them the elderly and people with special needs.
With this achievement, the elderly care home in Ashrafiyat Sahnaya has regained its human warmth, becoming a model to be emulated in organized charitable work that combines technical and humanitarian dimensions, placing human dignity at the heart of its priorities.
