Specialized Medical Campaign to Support Pediatric Cancer Patients Backed by King Salman Relief Center in Damascus

Al-Ameen Humanitarian Organization, in cooperation with the Damascus Health Directorate and with support from the King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center, has launched a specialized medical campaign to support children suffering from cancer. The initiative combined awareness-raising efforts with direct medical care, aiming to enhance the quality of healthcare provided to this group of patients and to strengthen the capabilities of the medical staff involved in their treatment.
The campaign featured a series of scientific workshops held over three days at Al-Mouwasat Hospital, focusing primarily on histopathology, as well as gastrointestinal and liver diseases. During these sessions, more than 65 medical cases were discussed, with participants reviewing differential diagnoses and identifying the key histological and cellular characteristics of each case through tissue slides supported by radiology images and endoscopy findings.
Beyond the theoretical component, the campaign also included specialized medical examinations for the affected children, along with scientific sessions and in-depth discussions of clinical cases. These activities helped facilitate the exchange of expertise among medical staff and strengthen their diagnostic skills, ultimately contributing to a higher standard of healthcare services provided to children with cancer.
This initiative reflects the joint efforts of the participating institutions to support the healthcare sector and promote continuous medical education among physicians and healthcare workers. It also underscores a shared commitment to delivering specialized, comprehensive care that helps improve the quality of life for children with cancer and their families.
