Mohammed Nasser the strong unbroken spirit
Near Yafe’a’s mountains in Lahij governorate – Yemen, Mohammed Ahmed Nasser a man in his fourth decade carrying the weight of life on his shoulders, his days were passing with the family routine, and his heart pulsed with the joy of fatherhood and marriage, he was a father to three sons and two daughters.
On a day in the year 2019, Mohammed set out on a military mission, meticulously combing through sites, bearing the responsibility of defending his homeland, a shell landed near him, leaving behind a trail of destruction and the painful amputation of his right leg just above the knee, Mohammed awoke in a hospital, attempting to comprehend his tragedy, finding himself limited in movement, trapped in the anguish of amputation. Yet, his indomitable spirit remained unbroken.
Mohammed headed to India, carrying the hope of adapting to life once again, there, he acquired a prosthetic limb, but it proved cumbersome and soon became unusable, after his return to Yemen, Mohammed was referred to Prosthetics and Rehabilitation in Aden, supported by King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, where, the window of hope shone brightly, his measurements were taken, a new prosthetic limb was crafted, equipped, and he was trained to use it.
With the new limb in hand, he could now return to his family and reclaim his life, today, Mohammed walks with confidence, transcending life’s challenges with a reassuring tranquility, he expressed that the center was like a light at the end of the tunnel, a beacon for the desperate and the defeated, as It offers hope to those overcome by circumstances, nations, and destinies, as It scripted a new chapter in the narrative of his life.
