With the presence of more than 1.2 million Syrian refugees in Lebanon which is a very large number equal to a quarter of the entire population of Lebanon, and with the Syrian displacement to Lebanon from nearly ten years to the present day due to the war, great burdens and pressures have been placed on the healthcare system in Lebanon. The sector has prominent gaps, especially at the level of coverage, which leaves hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees deprived of basic health care services, especially since most of the displaced Syrians in Lebanon are concentrated in the poorest host communities in areas such as “Akkar, Bekaa and Ersal” which are already suffering from a lack of services.


The mission of mobile clinics  In the context of the crisis

During the current crisis of “Covid-19”, the importance of mobile clinics in areas crowded with displaced people is highlighted to reduce congestion in health centers, and to provide medical services at the level of camps that mimic health centers with their quality, which prompted “Al-Ameen” for humanitarian support to take over this task through providing mobile clinics service within the camps of “Ersal” and its environs in order to serve the largest possible number of beneficiaries in a comfortable and safe way for them.

Al-Ameen, through mobile clinics service in Ersal, provides all primary medical services and free medicines to patients, and the clinic also provides community, nutritional and psychological health awareness services in the community with the distribution of brochures that promote basic health values ​​in the community, and patients who need specialists or higher medical services are also referred. Al-Rawda medical center

The hard conditions that Yemeni people live in are still continuing, unfortunately, due to the ravages of war and the intensification of the conflict, and the victim is always the most vulnerable and needy groups among all groups of the population, and based on this difficult situation and urgent needs, the staff of “Al-ameen” are still continuing their unlimited giving to help Yemeni people in various levels.

Perhaps the difficult situation in the city of “Sarwah” in “Maareb” governorate is representing a clear image of the suffering of the Yemeni people and their need to extend a helping hand in the fields of steadfastness support, health, community and educational care, which prompted the establishment of Al-Rawda medical center with the support of Al-ameen.

This center, located in “Rawda” area, is an integrated medical center that provides all types of healthcare and medical services of all kinds to a large segment of beneficiaries in and around that region, and is distributed between indigenous residents and displaced persons coming from other regions. The center includes general clinics that diagnose diseases in general, by specialized doctors who have extensive knowledge and skills to deal with all public health problems, and in turn they determine if there is a need to visit another health professional center.

The center also includes a women’s clinic, where the staff of that clinic performs a number of skills and responsibilities that include treating gynecological diseases in general, examining fetal heartbeat for pregnant women, preparing the pregnant woman for childbirths from the medical and psychological aspects, in addition to providing all medical therapeutic services in the field of gynecology.

Al-Rawda medical center also includes a nutritional clinic, as food is considered one of the most important treatment methods in many diseases such as diabetes, kidney failure, metabolic disorders and diseases intolerance to some nutrients, and this requires a scientifically qualified therapeutic nutritionist to translate the diet prescribed by the treating physician for foods that suit the patient and distributed over a number of meals according to the patient’s condition, so the nutritionist must be involved when prescribing nutritional therapy, and this is what the staff of the nutritional clinic at Al-Rawda medical center does with unrivaled efficiency.

Among the most important services provided by the nutritional clinic are: monitoring and evaluating the effect of meals and diets on the patient’s body and the extent of his interaction and response with them, educating people more about the importance of a healthy diet, educating them about the ability of healthy foods to prevent certain diseases and studying the extent of the effect of food on the human body, In addition to preparing nutritional diets and developing meals and diets according to the patient’s situation.

During the month of March, the center received 1171 patients, and 3221 free health services were provided, distributed to various clinics and nursing departments. The number of nursing services alone reached 293 services, and the rate of females was 52% and males 48% of the total beneficiaries of services. The community rate was 100% of the displaced, according to the register of services provided, which reflects the extent of overcrowding in that region with displaced coming from other areas where the conflict is raging.



Al Himma school for mobility disabled

“Al Himma” school for mobility disabled .. The lives of children with mobility disabilities constitute a fundamental concern and an increasing concern of “Al-ameen Organization”, as the need to support their special needs increases, especially in light of the difficult living conditions facing them, the spread of diseases and epidemics, and facing the second wave of the emerging corona virus pandemic.

Accordingly, a team from the center for prosthetics and rehabilitation in “Saioun” in the Hadramawt governorate, eastern Yemen, this morning visited “Al Himma” school for mobility disabled in Hadramout valley, to examine cases that need physical therapy and orthodontic support.

The visit also aimed at assessing the needs of children with mobility disabilities and exploring the possibility of supporting them and providing their requirements, in order to reintegrate these children into society to be individuals who contribute to building their future and the future of their families. The team of the center visits many disabled children every day, whose number exceeds 50% of the center’s visitors and beneficiaries.

It is worth noting that the center for prosthetics and rehabilitation in Saioun provides free services to children with mobility impairments and to all other beneficiaries, with the support and funding of “KSRelief” and the implementation of “Al-ameen”.

During the month of February, the Center provided nearly 1576 services, distributed to 238 beneficiaries, and the percentage of displaced persons among those beneficiaries was about 19%, while the percentage of residents among the beneficiaries was 81% of the total who received these services.



A child, Aghyad Al-Hourani, suffers from chest pain

For several months, Aghyad had suffered from dry coughing and chest pain, he visited our medical centre in the town of Ersal as the doctor diagnosed the case as chronic inflammation, and described the required medication, moreover, she requested that Aghyad should follow a healthy diet. Today, and during his third visit, Aghyad has came a long way towards recovery, the doctor emphasized that he should still follow the healthy diet to reach full recovery in the upcoming days


Al-amal Medical Center – Hope Space for Healthy Community

Life as a refugee feels very frustrating for Ahmad Qaddur, as the “only 2 options I have is to stay in the camp tent with my six children or to work hard for very long hours without being paid properly, and for someone who’s 50 years-old now like me, this is very, very difficult”.

Ahmad used those words as he described the hard living circumstances he and his family are going through during a visit to Al-Amal medical centre ran by #KSRelief in #Ersal city, he expressed how difficult the days are while being medically tested for any possible diseases, aches, or pain. After the tests were performed, the doctors told Ahmad that he suffers from high Arterial pressure, and gave him several advices including walking for 20 minutes a day and to stop smoking. After following the doctors instructions and advice, Ahmad is now completely cured from Arterial pressure, and will continue to lead a normal life but with more healthy habits.
