Healthcare Collaboration in Marib: Discussing Plans to Improve Health Services and Expand Support for Displaced People
The Director General of the Health Office in Marib, Yemen, Dr. Ahmed Al-Abadi, met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Association for the Care of War and Disaster Victims – Al-Ameen, Dr. Moawia Harsoni, to discuss avenues of collaboration in the healthcare sector.
During the meeting, plans to address the growing healthcare needs of the population in Marib, which hosts approximately 3 million people, over 70% of whom are displaced, were reviewed. The visit included tours of new health facilities, such as the Emergency Obstetric Center and the Al-Jafina Health Center. The delegation also inspected the site designated for the construction of a cancer treatment center, in addition to a specialized educational center for the visually impaired. Both parties agreed to expand healthcare services to better meet the needs of displaced individuals in the camps.
The delegation was accompanied by Ibrahim Al-Dhaifi, Director of the Organizations Department at the Health Office, Dr. Mohammad Dib Durbah, Regional Director of Al-Ameen, and several specialists.
