Al-Ameen Launches Phase II of Rehabilitation for Specialized Surgery Department at Marib General Hospital

The International Association for the Care of War and Disaster Victims – Al-Ameen has initiated Phase II of the rehabilitation and restoration project for the specialized surgery department at Marib General Hospital. This phase will focus on refurbishing the recovery area affiliated with the specialized surgery unit, particularly in the field of joint replacement surgery. The rehabilitation efforts are part of a partnership agreement signed earlier this year between the hospital authority and Al-Ameen Organization, aiming to establish, equip, and operate a specialized joint replacement unit while providing essential medical services. This support is extended as part of humanitarian efforts to enhance healthcare services in the region, with a special focus on facilitating specialized surgeries.

Al-Ameen will oversee the preparation, equipment, and operation of the designated joint replacement unit, which includes two operating rooms and two recovery rooms. Earlier this year, in February 2024, part of the surgical equipment and supplies was provided, with plans to later supply artificial joints and activate specialized surgery services to commence joint replacement operations. These initiatives are among the significant outcomes of the first Prosthetics and Physiotherapy Conference held in Marib at the beginning of 2024, under the patronage and attendance of His Excellency Dr. Qassem Buhaibeh, Minister of Public Health and Population.
