World Thalassemia Day 2026

Every year on May 8th, the world observes #World_Thalassemia_Day, reaffirming the importance of raising awareness about this disease — its symptoms, ways of living with it, and fostering a culture of prevention and community health responsibility. In line with the importance of building a healthy and safe future for our families and children, we emphasize the necessity of conducting pre-marital screening tests and consulting a specialist physician when either partner is diagnosed with thalassemia, as this plays a fundamental role in reducing the transmission of the disease and protecting future generations. On this occasion, we express our pride in the active humanitarian partnership between Al-Ameen Humanitarian Support Organization, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, and the Syrian Ministry of Health — a partnership that has contributed to providing essential medications for thalassemia patients throughout 2026, supporting treatment continuity and enhancing access to healthcare for patients across various regions.Together toward greater awareness… and a safer life for thalassemia patients and their families.
