Hearing Aid Distribution in Reyhanlı – Giving Everyone the Right to Be Heard
In the heart of Reyhanlı, southern Turkey — where the voices of Syrian refugees and host community members interweave into a shared human story — Al-Ameen Organization for Humanitarian Support launched a hearing aid distribution campaign as part of its comprehensive auditory rehabilitation project.
Silence is not always a choice. For many beneficiaries, hearing loss was an invisible barrier cutting them off from the simplest moments of life: a child’s laughter, a reassuring word, a question answered in a classroom. This campaign was designed to break that silence, and to restore people’s right to hear and participate.
The project targeted two complementary groups: Syrian refugees carrying the weight of displacement, and the host community that has opened its doors and shared its burdens. Humanitarian impact knows no boundaries — healthcare is an indivisible right.
At Al-Ameen, we believe that rehabilitation does not begin with rebuilding structures alone, but with rebuilding connections. Because the ability to hear is the first gateway to education, work, and belonging.
