Hope restores hearing to children in Damascus as part of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center initiative
In Damascus, hearing tests for children continue as part of the Saudi volunteer medical program “Amal,” generously funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and implemented by the International Association of Hearing Aids (IAHA). This is an essential step after cochlear implant surgery.
During these tests, children experience exceptional moments as they experience the sounds of life around them for the first time—their laughter, the words of their parents, and even their own voices, which they had never heard before.
This stage is a vital part of the hearing rehabilitation journey, as specialists monitor the development of children’s responses and enhance their ability to distinguish between sounds and communicate with others.
