Somalia’s blood bank is a lifeline, supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen life-saving health services, the Blood Bank Center in Somalia—operated by the International Association “Al-Ameen” with generous support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center—continues to provide essential medical services. This initiative is part of Al-Ameen’s specialized interventions under the Health System Support Program.

The center serves as a key facility for providing safe and free blood units, assisting dozens of patients daily who require urgent transfusions, particularly children suffering from anemia and individuals in emergency situations.

Operating with high efficiency, the center carries out blood collection from voluntary donors, conducts laboratory testing to ensure safety, stores the blood according to medical standards, and distributes it to hospitals and health facilities based on need.

Every unit of blood provided here represents a life saved—and a medical response that cannot wait.
