Al-Ameen Welcomes U.S. President’s Intention to Lift Sanctions on Syria and Commends Saudi and Turkish Support

International Association for the Care of War and Disaster Victims (AL-Ameen) extends its heartfelt congratulations and deep appreciation to the great Syrian people on the occasion of U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of his intention to lift the American sanctions imposed on Syria. We hope this move will represent a positive step toward ending the suffering of civilians and easing the burden on Syrians both inside and outside the country.

While welcoming this announcement, we also pay tribute to the free revolutionaries of Syria and to its noble martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of freedom and dignity, becoming the voice of truth against oppression and tyranny.

Al-Ameen expresses its deep gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey for their unwavering support of efforts to lift the sanctions, and for their steadfast positions in support of the Syrian people and their dignity.

We particularly commend the noble humanitarian stance expressed by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, whose sincere emotions were evident during President Trump’s announcement from the Saudi capital, Riyadh. This reflects the Kingdom’s continued commitment to its pioneering role in supporting the just causes of the Syrian people and standing by them until Syria regains its place as the jewel of the East.

At Al-Ameen, we hope this step will translate into tangible actions that help alleviate humanitarian suffering and fulfill the aspirations of Syrians for peace, justice, and a life of dignity. This decision could significantly improve humanitarian and economic conditions, facilitate broader and more effective aid delivery, and stimulate relief and development efforts across Syria’s war-affected and deprived regions.

We reaffirm our unwavering commitment to continuing our humanitarian work on the ground, and we renew our call on the international community to prioritize civilian needs and to strengthen humanitarian action away from political polarization.
