Celebrating World Kidney Day with the aim of raising awareness about kidney health and related diseases
The World Kidney Day is celebrated annually in March, to increase awareness about kidney health and related diseases, as well as the necessity of regularly monitoring kidney functions, especially for diabetic and hypertensive patients.
In Mogadishu, Somalia, the Kidney Dialysis Center, operated by the International Association for Protection of Victims of War and Disaster and supported by King Salman for Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, celebrated World Kidney Day during the blessed month of Ramadan. The medical and technical team organized awareness campaigns for kidney dialysis patients, especially focusing on fasting during Ramadan and increasing health awareness among them. They also conducted routine free screenings for kidney dialysis patients and those receiving treatment at the clinic, with the goal of effectively monitoring their health status and educating them.
