Al-Ameen’s campaign to aid the displaced

A bloody war and intense escalation are still taking place around the areas surrounding the Yemeni governorate of “Maareb” all because of Houthi militias that daily bomb residential areas and displace hundreds of thousands of families from their homes and force them to flee to less dangerous areas in the city.

The clashes have led to about twenty thousand displaced people fleeing their camps in the districts that are witnessing confrontations with the Houthi militia, and they moved to the city directorate and the valley directorate to escape the fighting, under very bad humanitarian conditions, as they lack tents and blankets, and they also need medical care and facilities, besides providing food.

UN statistics

According to forecasts and statistics issued by the united nations, more than 100000 people are at risk of displacement if fighting continues in and around Maareb governorate, and the website stated that the UN spokesperson said that the humanitarian partners reported the continuation of intense fighting across frontline areas in Maareb governorate, which led to Large waves of displacement since the beginning of February.

In the daily press conference from the permanent headquarters of the united nations in “New York” the spokesperson for the Secretary-General, “Stephane Dujarric” said that about 20 thousand people were displaced from the governorate of Maareb between February 8 and April 10, and he said in this regard: “Most of those who were forced to flee They are among the one million displaced people who are actually living in the governorate, which is the largest number of displaced people in Yemen”.

These actions reflected greatly on the poor families residing in the city, who suffer from a financial deficit, and it is already difficult for them to secure their livelihood, and the same applies to the displaced who were displaced to the city, and whose population density increased the prices of basic materials due to the high demand for them.

“Al-Ameen” initiates

Accordingly, it was necessary to respond to that problem, and to stand by the needy groups in their ordeal, and from this standpoint the role of the “Al-Ameen” for humanitarian support has emerged in securing food baskets that help in the food security of the neediest families and contribute to alleviating the effects of the humanitarian crisis in Yemeni society, where more than 700 Yemeni families of residents and displaced persons have been reached, covering about 3600 beneficiaries.

Al-Ameen has been and is still a partner in the humanitarian response in Yemen and is working hard to be a permanent aid to the affected families, always standing with the needy and alleviating their suffering and pain, especially since the existing humanitarian crisis in Yemen is one of the worst crises in the world now, and it is worth noting that the cost of the response plan humanitarian Yemen has reached 3.85 billion dollars to help 16 million people this year, and according to Dujarric, only 21% of this amount has been funded so far.
