Al-Ameen organizes a joint campaign for cochlear implantation to support children suffering from hearing problems to improve their quality of life

Within the framework of the operational alliance between Al-Ameen for Humanitarian Support and the Syrian Civil Defense, the first cochlear implant surgeries in Turkey began today to support children suffering from hearing problems to improve their quality of life.

This effort aims to enhance the living conditions of affected populations, especially children with hearing impairments that affect their quality of life. Al-Ameen for Humanitarian Support, in collaboration with the Syrian Civil Defense and the Directorate of Health in Syria, organized a joint campaign to implant cochlear implants for children, with the aim of improving their auditory capabilities and providing better opportunities for them in the future.

The children participating in the campaign were selected based on clinical medical criteria determined by the specialized medical committee in the Idlib Health Directorate. The selection process was divided into several stages; in the first stage, the campaign was announced, and the registration link was shared, with approximately 700 children participating. In the second stage, 30 children were selected to participate in the campaign, and Al-Amin looks forward to targeting a larger number in subsequent stages.

Children were selected based on their auditory capabilities and their potential to benefit maximally from cochlear implantation and subsequent auditory rehabilitation. Cochlear implantation and auditory rehabilitation will take place in the coming days, following a screening process based on various criteria, including social status, financial situation, and displacement status.

This campaign is a prominent example of the joint efforts between Al-Ameen and the Syrian Civil Defense and local authorities in Syria, reaffirming their commitment to improving the quality of life for vulnerable children and providing them with necessary healthcare.
