The International Association for the Care of War and Disaster Victims, with the support of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, launches the Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Program in Yemen for 2025

The Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Program for 2025 has been launched in Yemen, implemented by the International Association for the Care of War and Disaster Victims (Al-Ameen), with the support of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. Nizar Ba-Suhaib, Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Abdullah Dahhan, Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population, several Ministry of Health representatives, Major General Abdul Hakim Al-Shaibi, representative of the Ministry of Defense, and Dr. Muawiya Harsouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Association. Representatives from relevant government agencies, international organizations, and local institutions also participated.

The event covered various topics, including an introduction to the program and its objectives, stories of achieved humanitarian milestones, a presentation of past accomplishments, and the program’s goals for 2025.

During the ceremony, four agreements were signed for the 2025 Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Project in four Yemeni provinces.

Dr. Mohammad Dib Darba’a, Regional Director of the International Association for the Care of War and Disaster Victims (Al-Ameen), reviewed the stages of development of the four prosthetics centers managed by the association, in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health and Population, and supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.

Dr. Darba’a highlighted key achievements since 2020, noting that a total of 107,569 individuals have received specialized free services, amounting to 292,056 services provided. The centers have successfully fitted 10,684 prosthetic and orthotic devices and offered medical and technical consultations to 96,855 individuals.
