Licensing and Operations
Alameen is Officially licensed in many countries such as The United Kingdom, Sweden, The United States, and Turkey. These main offices are officially registered with a charity status facilitating advocacy activities, fundraising opportunities, and spreading our cause loudly everywhere we can.
Alameen has been also involved in humanitarian responses as operational missions in Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Somalia, Palestine, Sudan, Iraq, Ukraine, and Djibouti over the past years. In these mission offices, Alameen coordination teams operate in coordination and collaboration with local authorities, providing services through three main Humanitarian programs: Health and Nutrition, Protection and Education, and Emergency Response.
Job Purpose:
The Prosthetic Limbs Technician will perform various functions where they must work to carry out production and manufacturing operations in all stages and according to the ideal technical specifications under the supervision of the technical committee after studying the pathological condition and describing the necessary materials according to the recommendations of the committee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Study the patient’s medical case and specify the required materials according to the technical committee’s recommendations.
- Carry out all stages of production and manufacturing according to the ideal technical specifications under the supervision of the technical committee.
- Qualify and train the patient to use the prosthetic limb in coordination with physical therapy technicians.
- Follow up on the periodic maintenance of prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices.
- Full responsibility for the safety, cleanliness, organization, and arrangement of equipment, devices, and tools in the technical workshop according to the distribution in the workshop sections under the supervision of the center’s director.
- Apply safety and protection rules during work.
- Provide solutions and suggestions on how to develop the center.
- Follow up on the maintenance of devices and equipment and verify their safety before use within the center.
- Follow up on assistants and work on their development and answer their inquiries.
- Follow up on the center’s and technical workshop’s supplies and make suggestions.
- Follow up on the warehouse needs according to the work mechanism and consumption needs.
- Follow up on and facilitate the completion of documentation at the end of each service.
- Install and fit ready-made braces and splints under the supervision of the technical committee.
- Adhere to the work plan for prosthetic limb manufacturing to achieve the specified target of the required number during the project period.
- Adhere to the capacity development program and instructions of the technical management and prosthetist.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor within the scope of their responsibilities.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s specializing in prosthetics.
- More than 5 years of experience in the manufacture, production and maintenance of prosthetics and orthotics.
- Experience in studying the pathological condition and describing the necessary materials, in addition to training and rehabilitating the patient on the use of the limb.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure and within a team environment.
- Good at English (oral and written)
