Job Purpose  

To plan, coordinate, and supervise all assigned health projects in Syria and ensure their implementation within time, budget and quality. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Prepare the project implementation plan in cooperation with the program director and the implementation team. 
  2. Submit the project plan to the Programs Director to be reviewed and approved. 
  3. Participate as required in project kick-off, close-out, and review meetings. 
  4. Ensure documentation and follow-up of action points in a timely manner. 
  5. Assist in the recruitment, screening, hiring, selection and performance management and evaluation of the project team members. 
  6. Supervise the implementation of projects and activities on a daily manner. This includes directing activities, avoiding mistakes, and receiving and submitting projects reports. 
  7. Prepare, develop, and review the reports to be submitted to donors. These could include daily, weekly, quarterly, progress and final reports. 
  8. Lead the field team and follow up the implementation of activities with them. 
  9. Follow-up with other departments in relation to project activities. 
  10. Prepare weekly implementation work plans and follow up the implementation with the field team. 
  11. Participate in the opening of the offers, and procurement committee to evaluate the competing bids, help choose the winning bid and complete necessary procurement for assigned projects. 
  12. Follow up on the project agreement conditions. 
  13. Assist in preparing project proposals based on the technical and humanitarian needs assessment conducted by the field and MEAL teams. 
  14. Be fully responsible for meeting donor targets and compliance requirements through activities, means of undertaking activities, and in all other documentations. 
  15. Ensure, with the finance department, that activities and expenses are regularly monitored and as needed, action plans with follow-up are developed to correct any over- or underspending in a timely manner. 
  16. Represent Al-Ameen and the programs department and ensure effective participation in cluster meetings and workshops with partners, donors, and other parties. 
  17. Manage communications, reporting and relationship development with the related clusters. 
  18. Receive, update and monitor all health projects data. 
  19. Review, email, update and monitor all media production regarding health projects. 
  20. Monitor and update all assigned project’s indicators and ensure they meet agreed indicators in the project agreement. 
  21. Any other duties assigned by line manager when required 

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies. 

  1. A Bachelor degree in medicine or pharmacy or dentistry with at least 3 years of experience in a similar position and duties in NGOs or INGOs 
  2. Ability to take initiative and work without supervision. 
  3. People management skills that include diplomacy 
  4. Ability to work with diverse people, communities, and cultures, with an understanding of cultural awareness practices.  
  5. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) 
  6. Excellent communication skills 
  7. Excellent skills in English and Arabic
