A qualitative meeting in Aden to enhance prosthetic and rehabilitation services in partnership with the Red Cross.

The Aden Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center hosted a key meeting with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), attended by a group of specialists. Participants discussed several key topics, ranging from a review of the center’s prosthetic and physiotherapy services to ways to enhance cooperation between the Amin Organization and the ICRC to expand the scope and improve the quality of services in Aden and surrounding areas.

The meeting also addressed education initiatives in the field of prosthetics, with a proposal to establish a professional diploma program in Aden to train local cadres. The ICRC provided a comprehensive overview of its current activities, including an initiative to manufacture wheelchairs for complex disabilities such as cerebral palsy.

The Red Cross delegation announced the opening of the first specialized center for the treatment of “dogfoot” in Aden, emphasizing their desire to expand cooperation through new referrals to the center. The meeting concluded with an agreement on the importance of holding regular meetings to enhance coordination and exchange of expertise among all stakeholders.

This meeting reflects the commitment of the participating parties to achieving a positive and sustainable impact in the field of health rehabilitation in Yemen and opening new horizons for development and advanced healthcare.
