Specialized training workshops to enhance infection control and improve the efficiency of healthcare staff in Syrian hospitals
In a practical response to enhance patient and healthcare worker safety within hospitals, specialized infection control training workshops were conducted for healthcare workers in several Syrian governorates. These workshops are part of ongoing efforts to improve professional performance and strengthen safety standards within healthcare facilities. These training sessions were implemented by Al-Amin Humanitarian Organization in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Health, and with support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. This initiative aims to support the health sector and enhance infection prevention and control measures within hospitals and medical facilities. The training workshops focused on key aspects of daily nursing practice, including standard precautions, patient triage procedures, sterilization and disinfection protocols, and methods for reducing infection transmission within various departments, including intensive care units, neonatal units, operating rooms, and emergency rooms. The training began in Damascus Governorate, where 100 nurses and midwives participated in a four-day intensive training program designed to improve the skills of nursing staff and enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to patients. The participants emphasized the importance of these workshops in enhancing their practical knowledge and applied skills in dealing with special cases, and in following infection prevention procedures between patients and healthcare staff, noting that these trainings will directly improve the level of healthcare and enhance the safety of the work environment within hospitals.
