Key Meeting in Aden to Enhance Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Services in Partnership with the Red Cross
The Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Aden hosted an important meeting with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), attended by a distinguished group of specialists. The participants discussed several key topics, starting with a review of the center’s services in the fields of prosthetics and physiotherapy, and explored ways to strengthen cooperation between the International Association “Al-Ameen” and the ICRC to expand and improve service quality in Aden and neighboring areas.
The meeting also addressed educational initiatives in the field of prosthetics, including a proposal to establish a professional diploma program in Aden to train local personnel. The International Committee presented a comprehensive overview of its current activities, including an initiative for the production of wheelchairs designed to accommodate complex disabilities, such as cerebral palsy.
The Red Cross delegation announced the launch of the first specialized center for the treatment of “clubfoot” in Aden, affirming their desire to expand collaboration through new referrals to the center. The meeting concluded with an agreement on the importance of holding regular meetings to strengthen coordination and exchange experiences among all stakeholders.
