AL-AMEEN for Humanitarian Support is a non -governmental organization established by a group of volunteers in Syria during the crisis in 2012 and registered in the USA, Sweden, and turkey.

AL-AMEEN is implementing projects through regional offices in Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq, Palestine, and Somalia.

Our work sectors are Health, Nutrition, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), Protection, Shelter &Non-food items, Wash and Sanitation.

AL-AMEEN also manages development projects, advocates to empower civil societies and local governance.

Job Description :

AL-AMEEN is seeking an FSL program coordinator who has a wide range of technical knowledge, assessing people’s needs and implementing FS&L activities.

S/HE will be responsible for coordinating, consolidating, and ensuring smooth implementation of FSL programs through support to the FSL teams.

Operating with a large degree of autonomy, he/she is also responsible for general activities indispensable for project implementation, such as diagnostics, planning, activity management, team supervision, and financial and logistical management of activities.

Responsibilities:

Project Implementation

  • Promote more resilient livelihoods to increase people’s autonomy, enabling them to generate income that meets their basic needs, even in times of crisis.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality concept notes and proposals
  • Ensure technical guidance of program implementation in multiple operational bases through regular field visits
  • Support the organization and facilitation of training sessions for technical teams and assisted communities
  • Supervise and evaluate the Food security and livelihoods program managers and subordinates
  • Closely coordinate and collaborate with other technical departments (nutrition, water, and sanitation)
  • Develop detailed activities plans in line with the FSL program objectives, ensuring that those activity plans are implemented.
  • Monitor the FSL program performance in terms of outputs against activity plans and take all necessary action, in association with the Senior FSL Advisor to ensure the FSL programs achieve its objectives within the allotted time and budget.
  • Ensure that beneficiaries, local authorities, and local staff are represented in program planning and evaluation.
  • Monitor the humanitarian situation on basic needs, and evolution on markets and financial services
  • Identify geographical areas of interest to the organization according to humanitarian needs and vulnerable population context. Analyze and report the humanitarian needs and provide clear and detailed recommendations for interventions.
  • Develop appropriate targeting criteria and mechanisms to ensure the needs of identified vulnerable groups are met.
  • Plan and implement food security and livelihood activities such as:
  • Assessments and surveillance interventions.
  • Agriculture value chains, Cash Value Added, emergency food aid and bread interventions.
  • Income Generating and Economic recovery interventions.
  • Research an innovative intervention under FSL sector.
  • Coordination with the other program officers on the FSL programs needs related to support from Logistics, and Finance .
  • Following up with the logistics team to insure sharing information and keeping markets and shopkeepers under supervision.

Staff Supervision and Leadership

  • In coordination with head of department, to manage Al-Ameen staff assigned to FSL programs, ensuring that all staff has clearly understands their responsibilities.
  • Supervising and providing technical support to FSL staff ensuring provision of quality life-saving and sustainable assistance.
  • Strengthen staff and partner capacity on FSL and ensure a clear understanding of key concepts through trainings and other capacity strengthening activities.

Monitoring and compliance

  • Ensure monitoring of food security and livelihood projects (field visit, regular program monitoring, donors reports, monthly reports, etc.).
  • Develop the needed monitoring and implementation tools/ guidance, SOPs, and forms aligned with Al-Ameen monitoring frameworks.
  • Work on the budget forecast, staff evaluation and planning,
  • prepare and write of food security and livelihood concept notes, proposals (log frame, narrative, budget) together with the FSL team in link with the support team.
  • Improve the quality of services provided through support supervision of key staff, analysis and dissemination of M&E data and lessons learned.
  • Ensure adherence to Al-Ameen Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy and standards of integrity, as well as uphold Al-Ameen whistleblowing mechanisms.
  • Ensure compliance against all donor requirements, including timely quality reporting, as applicable to the project.

Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting:

  • Delivers timely quality reporting on project activities, including findings regarding the impact on individuals and communities.
  • Takes part in projects meetings called by donors and any relevant stakeholders, in close coordination and under the supervision of the Head of Mission

Ability to:

Qualifications

  • University Degree in agriculture, economics, business administration, sociology, international development, or relevant field
  • 3 years of professional experience in such program managing
  • Excellent knowledge of the humanitarian and development sectors, and experience with and knowledge of humanitarian standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of program life cycles.
  • Comfortable in planning and delivering multiple activities, work plans, and tasks under pressure to strict deadlines and high levels of precision.
  • Ability to work with and lead a team and work independently, with minimal supervision and under pressure, while taking and facilitating team and programmatic decisions.
  • Proven skills in managing others, leading teams, reporting, analyzing, and problem-solving.
  • Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding work-related information and data.
  • A critical mind, and ability to ask questions and analyze situations.
  • Excellent management capacities and team leadership spirit
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to solve problems in the field with staff, local committees, and beneficiaries.
  • Ability to manage remote teams.
  • Experience in programming Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Desirable, PMP Certified.

Languages:

  • Arabic and English are mandatory (oral and written)
