About Us:

AL-AMEEN for Humanitarian Support is a non -governmental organization established by a group of volunteers in Syria during the crisis in 2012 and registered in the USA, Sweden, and turkey.

AL-AMEEN is implementing projects through regional offices in Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq, Palestine, and Somalia.

Our work sectors are Health, Nutrition, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), Protection, Shelter &Non-food items, Wash and Sanitation.

AL-AMEEN also manages development projects, advocates to empower civil societies and local governance.

Job Description

AL-AMEEN is seeking a Health Program Officer (HPO) to support the implementation and coordination of health programs. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for public health and a desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the development of health programs, including needs assessments, project proposals, and budgets.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of health programs to ensure that they are meeting their objectives.
  • Support the capacity-building efforts of the health team, including facilitating training sessions for staff and health personnel in areas such as clinical training, health service management, and data collection to deliver quality health services.
  • Collaborate with the Proposals Development and Quality Assurance Unit to gather and compile program-level monitoring and evaluation information.
  • Assist in representing AL-AMEEN in health-related forums, meetings, and workshops.
  • Collaborate with different departments within AL-AMEEN to ensure the success of health projects.
  • Assist in the coordination of program activities with other relevant public and private programs to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to timely and high-quality project reporting, including impact assessments on individuals and communities.
  • Participate in project meetings called by donors and relevant stakeholders under the supervision of the Health Program Manager.
  • Assist in data management and analysis.
  • Collaborate with field teams and manage tasks as needed.

Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting:

  • Delivers timely quality reporting on project activities, including findings regarding the impact on individuals and communities.
  • Takes part in project meetings called by donors and any relevant stakeholders, in close coordination and under the supervision of the program manager.

Ability to:

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, supervise and evaluate complex program activities and diverse staff.
  • Apply principles and techniques to problems and issues.
  • Analyze and evaluate data and information and make appropriate recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Health professional with a medical degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in health program coordination or related roles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data management techniques and tools.
  • Strong understanding of humanitarian and development sectors, including familiarity with humanitarian standards.
  • Familiarity with program life cycles and project management principles.
  • Proficiency in planning and executing multiple tasks, work plans, and activities under time constraints and with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision, especially in high-pressure situations, making informed decisions and facilitating team coordination.
  • Proven capabilities in team management, including leadership, delegation, reporting, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Commitment to maintaining the utmost confidentiality when handling work-related information and data.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to ask probing questions and analyze complex situations.
  • Strong managerial skills and a positive team leadership attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse cultures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity for detailed reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, especially when faced with field-related challenges involving staff, local committees, and beneficiaries.
  • Ability to effectively manage remote teams and ensure their productivity.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel for program-related tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • Desirable: PMP , PMD Certification.
  • Languages: Fluent in both Arabic and English, both spoken and written.

Languages:

  • Arabic and English are mandatory (oral and written)
