Batoul’s Story – A Symbol of Hope and Determination in the Face of Neural Tube Defects
Batoul Louti Hamida was born carrying her childhood dream amidst the challenge of neural tube defects, which deprived her of sensation and movement in her lower limbs. Despite the difficulties, her parents never lost hope; they worked tirelessly to find a treatment that could change her reality. Their search led them to the Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center in Sayoun, supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and implemented by the Al-Ameen International Organization, where Batoul began a new path with precise examinations and rehabilitation.
Under the supervision of orthopedic consultant and physical therapy specialist Saud Al-Habshi, specially designed orthotic limbs helped her stand firmly and strive toward movement. Batoul then embarked on her physiotherapy and electrical treatment journey to gradually enhance her ability to move.
Every step Batoul takes is a victory witnessed by her parents, who watched her progress with joy and pride. Her story is not just treatment; it is a saga of willpower that reflects perseverance to change reality. Thanks to God and the specialized medical support, Batoul has become a symbol of hope and strength, proving that disability is not the end of a dream, but the beginning of success written by hope and crafted by determination.
