Acute malnutrition in yemen
Approximately 2.3 million children under the age of five in Yemen are expected to suffer from acute malnutrition in 2021, with the potential to die if they do not receive urgent treatment, It is also expected that about 1.2 million pregnant or lactating women in Yemen will suffer from acute malnutrition for the same year, according to warnings from the United Nations Food Organization, UNICEF, the World Food Program and the World Health Organization.
In under of these shocking numbers of food reality and because of the humanitarian need to intervene in the response, “Alameen” for humanitarian support launched a project to strengthen the health care services and manage cases of malnutrition in Yemen, with the support and financing of King Salman for humanitarian aid and relief center, By launching 48 mobile clinics in the neediest areas, and they cover 9 governorates divided into 36 districts and with more than 336 health workers.
The project aims to build a nutritional health system in cooperation with local partners and provide integrated medical nutritional care, with continuous nutritional and community awareness campaigns.
